Mafia 2 my latest single player time killer is a slick, VERY mature, violent, bloodbath that is sure to make even the most jaded GTA fan salivate. Incredible visuals and a great story (so far) have thoroughly hooked me. However this is one you want to play away from the kids as there is nudity, violence, drug and alcohol use and even simulated sex....definitely not for the kiddies!

I am fully 10 levels into my free edition of Everquest 2 with the family and I have to say it is a pretty cool World of Warcraft clone. Good quest design in that repetitive way that MMO's do quests, nice art direction have led to both my wife and teenage daughter making up characters and playing as well.
Of course, free comes with a price tag in that you do not have access to good or evil character races and are limited to just 4 classes to choose from but who can complain at this price?
Everquest2 is good family fun and I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Hello All!
Well I downloaded Runes of Magic another FREE MMORGP and I must say that I find it to be quite good. Graphics are on par with World of Warcraft and the overall storytelling and style of art are also reminiscent of that stellar title. Given that this one is free to own and free to play what have you got to lose? I say run with it and enjoy the power of Freee!

Games going free
World of Warcraft, Ultima Online, City of Heroes. These are all Massive Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Games (or MORPG's) and they all cost money. Money to purchase (anywhere from 20-60 dollars) and money to play which adds up fast at fifteen bucks a month. Now I freely admit that I have paid for these games in the past and in the case of WoW I have paid HUNDREDS of dollars to play them online. But no more!
Thanks to the free MMORPG industry in Southeast Asia the free model is now coming envogue here in the states as Lord of the Rings, Dungeons and Dragons and Everquest 2 all have moved to a free to play model where even the cost of the game is nothing, zero, zilch...er...nada. To be sure in this model you are restricted in classes and races and will pay piecemeal for the honor of no limitations on character creation but given the fact that the main questline is available and for many so to is crafting and player vs player (or PvP) this is hardly a travesty.
Hooray for free!
